Intrinsic Purpose
While confused, 20% of your moves and attacks will be in a random direction, Similarly, ranged spells and commands (e.g., controlled teleports) have a 20% chance of being targeted somewhere else than where you specified.
Gaining the Intrinsic
An artifact can inflict this. Otherwise, it can be inflicted as a side-effect of various other spells or events:
- When a summoned creature becomes untame due to the death of its summoner, it becomes confused for 4 turns.
- The weapon skill Stun can confuse its target for 3-5 turns.
- The Soul Suck spell confuses its victim for 5 turns, in addition to its primary effect.
- The Mind Acid spell confuses its target (or its caster) for 2d5+10 turns.
