Description

This is one of the more dangerous deity punishments. 20 rounds of Strong Poison does quite a bit of damage. The avatar will take 2d3 damage every 2 turns for 20 turns, at which point the poison will resolve itself, dealing a final burst of 4d3 damage. Altogether, it deals between 23 and 72 damage.

Tips and Tricks

• Drinking a Cure Potion or casting Cure Poison on yourself will remove the poison effect entirely, halting the damage.
• Consuming the corpse of a Green Dragon (or Baezl'bub himself) or wearing an Amulet of Poison Resistance will prevent you from taking "ongoing damage". However, you will still take the final 4d3 burst of damage. Also, the spell "Slow Poison" will grant you Poison Resistance for a short time, as will a holy Cure Potion.
• Polymorphing yourself will temporarily stop the effect. However, when you change back to your original form, you will still be poisoned. Still, this may give you an opportunity to find an appropriate cure.
