Special Details
- When an attack that deals shock damage hits a square containing a lightning rapier, it gains a number of charges equal to twice the damage dealt by the spell. (The first zap, which converts it from a mundane rapier, doesn't get the doubling.) If a stack of rapiers is zapped, they divide up the charges gained among them, but all will get the same number of charges, and at least one apiece.
- Zapping a lightning rapier creates a ray attack that deals 1d10 shock damage, travels 6 squares, bounces, and consumes 10 charges from the lightning rapier.
- This can be done even if the lightning rapier contains less than 10 charges (but it will then power down as below).
- This is considered a wand attack for both combat and piety purposes.
- This ray cannot be used to charge other lightning rapiers (that would be too easy).
- A successful melee attack with a lightning rapier consumes 1 charge and, if the user is not already quickened, quickens the character for 2 rounds.
- When a lightning rapier's last charge is used, it powers down, transforming back into a mundane rapier.
