Magical Staves

Staves are a special type of weapon that grant their wielder the use of several spells based on the theme of the staff.

Staves each have a base staff and a magical staff type. These are randomly paired up with one another at the start of a game. All weapon and item related statistics of staves are part of the base staff, and are listed under that staff's weapon entry. The different magical types of staves are:

• Staff of Healing
• Staff of Death
• Staff of Destruction
• Staff of Bolts
• Utility Staff

Tip: When you wield a staff with spells you already know, some of your spell slots are temporarily freed. This can be used to learn "extra" spells, much like polymorphing and with the same limitations.
