Potion of Enlightenment
From The Unofficial POWDER Wiki
Potions of Enlightenment are very useful for identifying items and for learning one's intrinsics or the intrinsics of monsters. Curse status has only one effect on this potion: like with other potions, a Holy Potion of Enlightenment will have a burst radius of 2, a neutral will have a burst radius of 1, and an Evil one will have a burst radius of 0 (affecting only the square on which it breaks). Additionally, like with any Evil item, attempting to throw it may cause you to drop it, in which case it falls and breaks in your square, affecting only you.
- Drinking a Potion of Enlightenment will reveal your intrinsics, including known skills and spells (which in reality are actually intrinsics).
- Dipping an unidentified item into a Potion of Enlightenment completely identifies the item. Dipping an identified item has no effect and does not consume the potion. Tip: If you have an item that you wish to identify, but haven't yet identified Potions of Enlightenment, Acid Potions or (if the item is flammable, such as a Long Sword, club, book or scroll), first dip an identified item that can dissolve in acid (and, if the item is flammable, one that will react to a Bottle of Greek Fire) in each of your unidentified potions. This will help you avoid the risk of accidentally destroying a potentially valuable item.
- Throwing a Potion of Enlightenment will reveal the intrinsics of all creatures that it hits. For instance, if you were to throw one into a crowd of monsters, the splash hitting three of them, it will list each of their intrinsics. It will do this in the same way it lists yours when you drink one, and it will repeat the process separately for each monster. It will not identify which monsters are which! A thrown Potion of Enlightenment will not affect items in its radius.
