While the prerequisite spells Magic Missile and Direct Wind are well-described elsewhere, the meat of this book is the three electrical attacks. In all cases, the flat damage ranges make them less than reliable killers, but a lucky strike can be remarkably lethal. Spark is a decent way to clear out the riffraff when you need to "Prove your Worth" or are otherwise surrounded. A Lightning Bolt can do up to 60 points of damage on a hit, and bouncing the bolt can give you an extra shot at that jackpot. Chain Lightning takes the same attack out to a crowd, with a good chance for multiple hits from the forking and bouncing bolts. All three spells can be used to charge your Rapiers into Lightning Rapiers, providing a mana-free option for later.
