Encyclopedia

The power of the air is yours! You can command a stiff breeze to blow in the direction of your choosing!

Most mages discount this spell as entirely useless. They only learn it when it is forced upon them to achieve more powerful effects. Wise mages, however, treasure this innocuous seeming spell.

Description

This spell is a prerequisite for many of the more powerful spells in the game, so it's useful to know what it does. It can be cast in any direction. Causes the wind to blow in the specified direction. Casting it on your own location causes the wind to stop. The wind affects the entire floor for 20 + 1d20 rounds.

Tips and Tricks

Why is this useful? Well, it's not usually. However, manipulating the wind can be useful in a few situations. For one, certain monsters (Air Elemental, Living Frost) can be 'blown' by the wind, carried away by the strong breeze. Also, the wind will blow smoke in the same direction, which is useful for clearing away acid or poison smoke. Primarily though, this is a prerequisite for an assortment of more powerful spells.
