Intrinsic Purpose

The affected Avatar or monster is helpless for the duration. Unlike Asleep, they will not wake when attacked.

Gaining the Intrinsic

The avatar (or their possessed host) can be paralyzed by divine punishment. Both the avatar and monsters can also be paralyzed by the attacks of certain monsters: Ghasts and Ghosts' natural attacks, and a Floating Eye or Gelatinous Cube's "counter" attack. Freedom will counter paralyzation.
