Twisted hunchbacked bipeds, ghasts are dreadful undead that swipe at foes with their noxious claws. Some warriors have been known to leave weapons for ghasts to pick up in the hope that they can face a mere sword rather than the claws.

Additional Information
- Ghasts are bloodless.
- They can use weapons, armour, and other items such as wands, potions, etc.
- Besides appearing as dungeon monsters, the avatar can create them from weakened monsters, by the use of the Ghastify spell. With the same spell, the avatar can also transform themself into a Ghast. A newly converted Ghast keeps all skills, spells, and other statistics of the original creature, but it is restored to full HP.
- Holy water does 2d4 damage to undead.
Tips and Strategies
As noted in the encyclopedia entry, putting weapons in its way is worth trying. Otherwise, attack from a distance, and/or exploit the Speed System.
