Gelatinous Cube
Contents |
Encyclopedia
The gelatinous cube is a large cube of semi-transparent jelly. One can often see the shape of incompletely dissolved items inside the cube.
Cubes blindly scour the dungeon, eating anything metallic. When they grow to sufficient size, they split into two smaller cubes. Attackers should be wary of the paralyzing nature of the acid splash that is produced by piercing their skin.

Tips and Strategies
Attack from a distance, set it on fire, or exploit the speed system to run circles around it recycling ranged weapons for close-up ranged attacks. Exercise caution in physical combat unless you have Acid Resistance or Freedom. Important: Because Gelatinous Cubes have Shock Resistance, if your primary weapon is a Lightning Rapier, you will need to swap out weapons before engaging the cube in melee.
These creatures are the janitors of the dungeon, cleaning up the items you left behind. If you don't watch out, they may swipe and eat the weapons you've been tossing around, or stuff you intended to collect later!
