Positive Actions:
- +1 to +3: Kill a creature with a melee attack
- +1: Wearing the appropriate dress code (2.5% chance each round)
- +n: Be surrounded by two or more enemies (n = 2*enemies)
Negative Actions:
- -1: Zap a wand
- -2: Perform a ranged attack
Forbidden Actions:

Those dressed as a barbarian gain the ability to move and attack diagonally. This requires you to use the stylus/mouse, the numeric keypad, or the Move command (W)(Move command is the only way of moving like that on GBA,PSP and any other port without mouse or diagonally buttons). In the hands of an advanced player, this can be an extremely useful ability. They will also gain piety with H'ruth over time.
Note that it will not let you squeeze through a diagonal gap between two walls, as commonly found on the QIX levels (levels 6-9). However, if you also possess the ability to jump, not only can you jump diagonally, but you can jump through those corners you couldn't normally, where there is a block to either side of you but not on the diagonal.
Level-Up Bonuses
H'ruth will sometimes grant skills. At each level the character will gain 2 physical levels, and 8d2+4 hit points. This is the largest bonus to hitpoints you can gain, without relying on heavy luck with Xom.

Tips and Tricks
- An easy way to gain piety is to surround yourself with monsters incapable of harming you, while making yourself immune to their attacks. A few ice snakes and some fur-lined boots would work, for example. Note that this will also anger Belweir.
- This can be a good starting deity to build up your hit points fast. Just don't read any spellbooks until you've changed to another god!
- Once you have Endure Hunger (but not before then), a Helm of Draining can be a good way to avoid accidentally casting spells "out of habit".
