Additional Information
- The Earth Elemental has the ability to Evade Traps.
- Its stony form cannot be petrified, but Stone to Flesh will destroy it. It is bloodless.
- Any form of Digging will damage it greatly. (see below)
- Earth Elementals do not eat.
Tips and Strategies
- Hitting it with a Dig spell, the beam from a Wand of Digging, or an Earth Hammer will do 50+1d50 damage. If you have an artifact which grants Can Dig, any melee attack will do the same.
- Casting the Stone to Flesh spell will instantly kill the Earth Elemental, but you will not get experience points.
- When it drops you into a pit, you want to get out pronto, because it's likely to follow up with a Rolling Boulder -- which will seal you underground! If this happens, you'll need to dig or teleport your way out. (Polymorphing can also help -- either into a Breathless form to buy time, or a Lich, which can teleport out.)
- You know what's fun? Possessing them! See the page for useful tips on how to deal with them
