Encyclopedia

The Arch-Lich Tlosh is the patron deity of necromancers. Though not technically a god, Tlosh's power is such that few argue the point.

Followers are encouraged to kill at a distance, practice death magic, dress well, and strike at the helpless. Followers are discouraged from all forms of healing and melee combat. Followers are forbidden from using healing spells.

Followers gain +5/+10 per level.

Gaining and Losing Piety

The following actions influence Piety with this deity. Negative actions have a double impact on Piety if you are currently following this God. Forbidden actions will reset Piety to zero and cause the God to pour his current God Points into a punishment.

Positive Actions:

  • +1 to +3: Killing a creature with a non-melee attack
  • +1: Wear the appropriate dress code (5% chance per round)
  • +1: Heal enemies (allowing them to suffer longer) or use vampiric healing
  • +n: Cast a Death spell (n is the ((manacost/5)+1)/2)
  • +2: Attack a helpless (sleeping/paralyzed) creature

Negative Actions:

  • -1: Attack with melee (20% chance per attack)

Forbidden Actions:

  • -5: Cast a non-vampiric healing spell.

Dress Code

The Necromancer dresscode is a bit odd, as it's less about what they are wearing, are more about the material. This can make things a bit tricky, as gold items can sometimes be quite bad. (For instance, if the Gold Crown turns out to be a Helm of Draining)

Headgear: Gold Crown.
Amulet: Gold Necklace or Ruby Necklace.
Weapon: Any Staff or Wand in either hand.
Armour: Crystal Plate
Rings: Any two Gold rings.

Those dressed as a necromancer are immune to death damage. The Finger of Death spell will always hit targets. They will also gain piety with Tlosh over time. Note that this outfit isn't very Quizar-friendly: the Crystal Plate is Very Loud, the Gold Necklace is Loud, and a Staff is Loud or Very Loud.

Level-Up Bonuses

Tlosh will sometimes grant spells. At each level the character will gain 1/2 physical levels and 1 mental levels. He will also gain 2d2+1 hit points and 4d2+2 magic points.

Tips and Tricks

  • Necromancers that use a lot of summoned creatures might want to consider Dressing as a Cleric, since the regeneration bonus is applied even to summoned undead.
